Welcome to Dreams of Tomorrow: A semi-literate warriors RPG! We are a lake-based warriors RPG, set in the times after Visions of Shadows and the Broken Code, and featuring the four original Clans, SkyClan, and two unique rogue Clans: Yijiao and Viperion!
Warmth has returned to the lake territories, and the prey is running well. Medicine cats are appreciating the chance to evaluate their herb stores and toss out old supplies. But the cats are not without problems: many Clans are changing leadership, and Twolegs often plague the territories, swimming in the lake and walking their dogs.

Those In Charge ThunderClan has been simply enjoying the weather, with not much else happening over the past few moons. Rumor has it that Maskedheart is preparing to retire, and Hollyleaf has had her eye out for a new deputy, but things are quiet other than that. Shadowleaf, at least, has her paws full with all of the queens and elders, but she doesn’t seem to mind her busy schedule during this time of peace.
Bans and Encouragements There are currently no bans in ThunderClan! Though it is the largest Clan, new characters are still welcome. Genders are even, but as always, nonbinary cats are very appreciated. Older characters are discouraged, as ThunderClan has an excessive amount of senior warriors and elders.
Those In Charge The death of Icestar barely seems to have caused ShadowClan’s bloodthirsty leadership to waver. Maplestar and Redflower are a true power duo. They’re stronger than ever, perhaps even more so than the combination of Icestar and Mapledream, which doesn’t bode well for peace around the lake territories. Privately, Redflower has been plotting with her mate to take over. Rowanspirit, meanwhile, is still doing well and seems confident in his ability to care for the Clan.
Bans and Encouragements There are currently no bans in ShadowClan! She-cats are somewhat encouraged to even out the genders, and older characters are slightly discouraged due to their sheer amount of senior warriors.
Those In Charge Peace has come to WindClan at last, and its members have been glad about the lack of major events over the past moons. Flamestar is starting to talk to Swallowstripe about retirement, but they seem to be in no particular rush; the leader still has plenty of lives despite her old age. For her part, Ryewhisker has been handling the moons as they come, steadfast as always. She is enjoying the warmer weather, and rumor has it that the three-legged medicine cat is keeping an eye out for a potential apprentice of her own.
Bans and Encouragements There are currently no bans in WindClan! New characters are especially encouraged for this Clan, as it is one of the smallest. Toms are strongly encouraged, as are expecting queens, but apprentices are slightly discouraged in order to give the current group a chance to age out of the den.
Those In Charge Even though the influx of foxes has been thoroughly dealt with, the situation in RiverClan is still uncertain. A newleaf flood did a significant amount of damage to the camp, and Frostedstar lost a life in the ordeal. The Clan is starting to worry; he’s getting up there in moons, and this is far from the first time he’s lost one of his lives. Snowstep and Ripplepool are concerned, but at the same time, Ripplepool has seemed a little distracted. Those with a keen eye might realize she’s been away from her den quite often, meeting with a certain tom.
Bans and Encouragements There are currently no bans in RiverClan! However, they have a lot of apprentices at the moment, and the same goes for senior warriors. The older character situation is likely going to be an ongoing issue for all of the Clans until the next major battle or whatever.
Those In Charge After being attacked and losing two lives to his own daughter gone rogue, Coalstar has stepped down from his position, retiring to senior warrior rank as Coalstorm. Fallenstar is now SkyClan’s leader. Despite her youth and inexperience, she is eager to prove herself. Nettleheart, her mate, has taken the role of deputy. Meanwhile, Acornleap is still working with Tansysight, making sure her former apprentice has everything she needs for the inevitable day when she will be SkyClan’s only medicine cat.
Bans and Encouragements Due to a massive influx of kits, SkyClan currently has a full ban on all new characters. This ban will be lifted once their numbers have had a chance to even out.
Those In Charge Life has been good in Yijiao. Helfeirch is still a powerful teller, and she seems even more confident now that she is running the group alongside her heir. Carnivore has settled into the position of vice as if it were made for him; he is talented and formidable despite his relative youth. The only issue for these cavern-dwelling cats is that contracts have been few and far between. Many assassins and bounty hunters have been getting restless, venturing out of the caves just to stretch their legs, and making the local rogues and loners very nervous in the process.
Bans and Encouragements There are currently no bans in Yijiao! Cats of all ages and genders are appreciated. Contract keepers and new queens are especially encouraged!
Those In Charge Viperion’s era of stability has passed with the death of its first monarch. While Vagabond has taken the throne and asserted his control over the group, nobody can deny that times are changing, and nothing seems set in stone anymore. The new monarch has declined to select a lieutenant so far, but he has chosen his own set of royalty, with only Regina retaining her old title. They will need to be ready for what the future holds; strange cats lurk at the borders, and echoes of the past seem to be coming back to life.
Bans and Encouragements There are currently no bans in Viperion! Elders are encouraged, but cadets and kits are discouraged, to give the current group a chance to grow up. Please note that royalty and fen are both locked to in-play promotion/demotion only.
Rowanpaw had never looked in as rough of shape as he did now. His eyes still reflected the horrors of what he had seen too recently. As a medicine cat apprentice, he had witnessed some of the harshest realities of Clan life - untreatable illness, vicious injuries, and death. But they had no compared to the scene he had found in the forest, a ways from camp. His sister, Acornwish ... dead. His mentor, his blood father, Birchstep, besides her, lifeless. Their bodies bore injuries that were so vicious, so brutal. Rowanpaw had cried out to StarClan in horror, before returning to camp to bring a patrol.
The Clan had been stunned by the brutality of the event. Even as the bodies were brought back to camp, the whole of LeopardClan was beyond words. Webstripe had looked hollow, dead eyed at the sight of his mate. Featheredpelt, their life-long mother, had sobbed at Acornwish's body all night. And Rowanpaw had sat besides them both, his head bowed, and offering the words of guidance to StarClan. He had never felt robbed of anything in life, not until he had witnessed this murder.
Icestar had declared that a fox was likely the culprit, accounting for the savagery of the wounds. The Clan all agreed, unable to think that a cat could cause this damage. Rowanpaw willed himself to agree with his Clanmates, but there was something in the back of his mind that told him that he shouldn't be so easily fooled. He seemed to be the only one who had noticed Redflower's scent was at the scene as well, almost masked completely by the scent of blood. Perhaps he was imagining it, but as a medicine cat, he knew that what he noticed frequently escaped the attention of others.
After the vigil, he had not slept, and he had no time to sleep. He was ShadowClan's sole medicine cat now. He had to take care of the Clan. Tomorrow he knew he would have to travel to the other Clans in LeopardClan to tell the medicine cats that Birchstep was dead. Darkjewel, though no longer a medicine cat, had studied alongside him under Birchstep too ... But more importantly, the only medicine cat not in LeopardClan would need to hear the news.
Rowanpaw had approached his father Goldenear after the vigil and asked him to arrange a meeting however he had used to do it with Acornleap in the past. The warrior had not showed the faintest inkling of surprise, and did not attempt to dissuade him from meeting her. Instead, they planned for a time late in the night.
Even though there were no major injuries or health concerns that day, Rowanpaw didn't sleep. He didn't want nightmares. He wanted to see his littermate or bloodfather visit him from StarClan even less. Hiding out in the medicine cat's den, he could simply pretend Birchstep was away for the day, and that nothing had changed. Not that it worked.
The sun had long since set when Goldenear met him in the medi - his den. Silently, the two cats turned to the camp entrance and left, the guard asking no questions of either of them. They simply seemed to assume the kin needed time to grieve together. And they did need just that. They padded along in the darkness for a while, not really speaking, before Rowanpaw attempted some form of discussion, "How's mom coping? I already had to treat Webstripe with chamomile, thyme, and poppy seeds today. I have enough for anyone else who needs it."
!!! TRIGGER WARNING !!! Very graphic and horrible content.
It was wrong to say that Goldenear had gotten used to seeing his children dead, wasn’t it? And while that was a terrible truth, it didn’t mean that it didn’t break the old tom to the bone when he saw Acornwish’s savagely torn body dragged back into the camp. The pain had only doubled when his brother had been brought in beside her. They had been mauled, pelts missing fur and so much red staining them that you’d think they’d swam in blood. Goldenear had assumed that the worst thing in life had been walking into the nursery after the fox attack to find three of his new babies mauled and lifeless… but this was a close contender.
He took the grief in a morbid silence while Featheredpelt wailed into the night, curled around their youngest daughter. Their extended kin had paid their respects, Acornwish had been a truly kind soul, loved by all who she had been near. Birchstep, despite his hostile and aggressive ways also had those who missed him. Himself, Rowanpaw, and Fernleap had stayed by his side the longest. It was hard to do it though, the metallic smell of blood shrouding any semblance of their own scents that could have been. Acornwish was the worst to look at it, it appeared as though she had gotten most of the savagery. Her throat was bitten or clawed open, though it seemed that the elders had tried and failed to adjust her so that it wasn’t too noticeable. Her backside was ripped up too, as if the foxes had held onto her with the sole purpose of pulling her flesh from her body. It made Goldenear hope she was dead by that point, he couldn’t imagine the pain she would have felt.
In a world of muted senses, it was Rowanpaw who stirred him. He wasn’t surprised that his son wanted to travel to SkyClan to tell his birthmother of fate of her mate and kit. Goldenear needed something to do, so he’d set off immediately to the border. Sitting in silence there, he wondered on what he would say to Meadowheart when he saw her, StarClan willing, he ran into her at all. Goldenear had started dozing as he sat, his brain unable to take the fatigue and stress, for several hours before a rustle startled him. Meadowheart seemed surprised but he guessed the look on his face deterred her from being hostile. All he needed to say was that he needed Acornleap there that night and he was grateful she didn’t ask any questions, Goldenear didn’t think he could deliver this news more than once.
By the time he made his way back to the ShadowClan camp, it was near time for him to collect Rowanpaw and to head out. The dirt was staining in the center of camp where Birchstep and Acornwish’s bodies had laid, now carried to their final resting place by the elders. He was sure his mother had made a fuss… she hadn’t spoken to Birchstep or him since his brother’s secret and forbidden love and kits had been revealed. He felt sorry that things turned out that way… but grateful again as him and his son left camp, the guard not saying a word.
"Worse than with Marshkit and when the foxes attacked. I don't think she can take anymore of this." The tom said solemnly. As Goldenear lead them closer to the border, the scents on the breeze told him that they’d arrived second. Pushing through the undergrowth, he came face to face with Acornleap and Meadowheart and his resolve began to crumble. He’d been holding it together for the last day and a half, yet seeing Acornleap here, her eyes searching behind him and Rowanpaw for Birchstep with hope on her face, he felt a silent sob rack his body. If he’d tried to speak then, he would not have been able to… so he stepped back, looking toward the ground and allowing Rowanpaw to speak instead.
