new-bare arrives march 1st
welcome to dreams of tomorrow
Welcome to Dreams of Tomorrow: A semi-literate warriors RPG! We are a lake-based warriors RPG, set several generations after The Broken Code and A Starless Clan, and featuring the four original Clans; the fifth Clan, SkyClan; and two unique rogue Clans: Yijiao and Viperion! We are an established (LGBTQ+ friendly) community, with Dreams of Tomorrow first posting in 2017.
LEAF-BARE
A cold wind blows over the lake, and a layer of snow covers the ground, added to by a constant flurry of fresh snowfall from clouds. Frost lingers on all remaining plant life, and whatever prey is caught is skinny, and hard to find. Cats become more protective of their territories with resources so scarce, and medicine cats fear that they will have to treat wounds alongside the constant threat of greencough.

the drama
After the era of LeopardClan, Icestar's return to power, and his subsequent death, peace has largely returned to the lake. While most of the Clans celebrate this, there are a few cats, both living and dead, who still feel the Clans are being steered in the wrong direction. Concerningly, some shadowy spirits are eager to help the Clans put things right, by way of living warriors - their successors, if you will. These cats are learning from the history of those now gone, and learning from their mistakes before they take their turn at leaving their mark around the lake.
Vendetta, upon the discovery of one his past paramours and oldest friends bleeding out, and mutilated beyond belief on his throne, has had a fire lit under him in regards to his group and the way that he runs things. The monarch of Viperion was on a warpath, and no one is innocent, nor safe, from Viperion's wrath until the culprit is found. Even upon Vendetta's death, Regina has carried on with his path of violence and revenge, and it seems no cat is safe until the culprit is found, regardless of what blood is spilt in the meantime.

Recent Happenings The cold chill in the air has ThunderClan on guard and ready to prepare for a harsh approaching leaf-bare. The Clan will find this season harsh, with many elders now to provide for, as well as a constant stream of kits who always seem to be hungry. Hollystar and Cinnamonroll are carefully structuring their patrols to make sure every cat is fed. Basilheart is already fretful, with her paws busy taking care of a terribly ill Moonlight, whose mysterious illness doesn't seem to be lightening up. Basilheart and Vixenpaw frantically tend to their supplies of catmint and other useful herbs, worried about how the Clan will cope with so many old and young kits who will be vulverable to greencough.
Those In Charge Hollystar is a proud and confident ThunderClan leader, one who takes ThunderClan's values to heart. She values reason and logic in all her decisions. A very cheerful cat, Sombermoon always looking to keep things calm and enjoyable, does the best he can to be neutral and reach fair, though sometimes firm, conflict resolution. Basilheart is a kind and soft medicine cat, with a deep connection to StarClan. She cherishes her Clanmates and works hard to make sure that they all stay happy and healthy. Vixenpaw is a medicine apprentice who has a gift for communicating with StarClan. She isn't afraid to be sassy with those who test her patience.
Bans and Encouragements ThunderClan is a Clan that's fairly even in numbers, though a bit on the larger side, and with a bit of a gender gap. Age dispersion is well managed across the Clan, though new elders are currently highly discouraged due to the sheer number of them. Litters are currently open in ThunderClan, though with a note to keep an eye on age dispersion. Genders are a bit unbalanced in ThunderClan currently, with she-cats outnumbering the toms, which has lead to a soft-ban on new ThunderClan she-cats for the time being. But, as always, nonbinary cats are very appreciated.

Recent Happenings After the turbulent leafbare that ShadowClan suffered with mass losses, Maplestar thought that she was finally in the clear as leafbare rolled around. However, as more cars started turning up dead at the borders seemingly to rogue attacks, ShadowClan's former deputy Redflower lost the last bit of control she had and aimed to kill Maplestar. Failing in doing this, she was sentenced to public execution. Maplestar, aging and distrustful, now keeps a sharp watch over her clan to stomp out any last bits of unrest and betrayal before they happen, and has a new deputy to help her retain power. Scarletfang, Redflower's own daughter, has risen to the challenge of helping Maplestar keep ShadowClan on the path to power. Icestar continues making moves from the afterlife, and more strange faces keep showing up in the camp. It's turbulent times in ShadowClan, one only hopes they'll pull through in one piece. However, they might just have a leg up in advantage over other clans as Maplestar makes a deal with an outsider in secrecy...
Those In Charge Maplestar has settled into her role as leader quite nicely, and is keeping up the same traits that Icestar had ShadowClan known for: strong and fearless. Scarletfang is a fierce deputy, but has tamed since the passing of her mother. Regardless, she guides strictly and without hesitation. Rowanspirit is a quiet tom who is highly observant, and takes his duty quite seriously, but has a deep love of life, his Clan, and StarClan.
Bans and Encouragements ShadowClan is a group that is reasonably balanced in numbers, though with a large gender divide. Ages are fairly well balanced in ShadowClan, but elders are encouraged, due to the near absence of them in the Clan. New litters in ShadowClan are momentarily discouraged until the current batch of kits has a chance to grow up a bit, and allow an age balance. Toms are highly encouraged in ShadowClan at the moment, due to the heavy lean toward she-cats, leading to new ShadowClan she-cats to be currently soft-banned. Though nonbinary cats are always welcome.

Recent Happenings Deciding enough is enough, Turtlestar has closed the borders on her clan to allow them a chance to rebuild and become unified without the interference of other clans. Ryewhisker and Flowerpaw are still allowed to come and go as they please, but Turtlestar keeps a small band for traveling to gatherings. She has a sharp and keen eye on the rogue warriors the clan had taken in within recent moons, and is ready to give judgement should it be needed. For now, she is accepting no new cats from outside her own clan. Loners seeking sanctuary are turned away at the border for another clan, and those who wish to leave her borders in favor of another clan are allowed, but must never look back. Shadewhisker has recently retired as well, having an unexpected illness plague him and keep him from being able to perform his duties. In his stead, Turtlestar has named Lilydawn WindClan's new deputy. The clan are antsy with the many changes, but Turtlestar remains a fierce and guarded leader, guiding her clan back to unity and strength.
Those In Charge Having come into her own, Turtlestar reigns with beauty and grace. Her leadership is firm, yet fair. Though cautious, she remains peaceful. Lilydawn is settling into her position as deputy with ease and is incredibly driven. Sweet yet firm, she guides with warmth and confidence. Flowerpaw is a gentle, compassionate medicine cat with an empathetic healing ability and an unshakable faith.
Bans and Encouragements WindClan is currently the smallest Clan around the lake, with a high need for more cats. Age divides are fairly balanced among warriors and senior warriors, but there is a need for new kits and new apprentices in the Clan. Litters are currently encouraged in WindClan. Genders are fairly balanced in WindClan, with a small lead to she-cats, but both genders are very encouraged. Nonbinary cats are also certainly very welcome.

Recent Happenings As Blackstar settles into the role he was thrust into overnight with Mintheart and Ripplepool at his shoulder, RiverClan is aiming to see a time of peace within it's borders. However, as the leafbare snow melts away to allow newleaf flowers to push through, RiverClan's territory has swelled up and proved to have devastating consequences in the form of floods. Many cats were lost, but RiverClan has bounced back to be as strong as they once were. Blackstar is confident of the moons to follow, and he plans on playing his cards wisely.
Those In Charge Though young and new to his leadership duties, Blackstar is eager and confident in his ability to follow in his predecessor's pawsteps. He is determined to prove himself and lead RiverClan to become a strong and united force while keeping RiverClan's values in the forefront. Despite her tragedy, Mintheart is rising to the challenge of being a competent deputy and is working towards organization to make RiverClan a well-run Clan. Ripplepool is a quiet and thoughtful medicine cat with a knack for herbs and great sympathy for others.
Bans and Encouragements RiverClan is currently the largest Clan around the lake, and one with a very large gender imbalance, so new characters permitted will be very limited. Ages are fairly well balanced at the moment, though young apprentices and kits are currently highly discouraged due to the sheer number of them. Litters are currently soft-banned in RiverClan, until ages are balanced out and other Clans can catch up in number. Genders are severely unbalanced in RiverClan, with she-cats dramatically outnumbering toms, leading to a ban on new she-cat characters. However, toms and non-binary cats may be permitted with staff consultation.
skyclan
news | leadership | bans
Recent Happenings SkyClan is, like their neighbors around the lake, preparing for many moons of hard times with an upcoming leaf-bare. Tanysight is gathering herbs in preparation for illness, with whispers of warning from her StarClan guides. Fallenstar and Nettleheart are organizing patrols carefully, hoping to keep the Clan well fed during the coldest, hungriest seasons. However, that is not all that is on their mind. After all, several SkyClan cats have gone missing, and though Duneleopard's return has been a comfort, there is still mystery as to why their cats have left, and where they could have gone.
Those In Charge Fallenstar is a young but dedicated leader, ready to work hard to serve her Clan well. She holds her own in a fight, but will always stop to listen to those in need. Nettleheart is a strong SkyClan deputy, who's proud of his Clan and firm in his choices. Tansysight is a quiet and secluded medicine cat, but incredibly gifted with her connection to StarClan.
Bans and Encouragements SkyClan is currently a well balanced Clan in numbers, though with a bit of a gender disbalance. Ages are fairly well balanced, though there is a need for more warriors of various ages to help with surpluses of kits becoming apprentices. However, young warriors are slightly discouraged at the moment, to help balance ages in the Clan. Litters are currently open in SkyClan. Genders are just a little off-balance in SkyClan, with a need for toms to help catch up in number to the she-cats. Though nonbinary cats are always welcome.
yijiao
news | leadership | bans
Recent Happenings Helfeirch and Carnivore have proven their ferocity around the lake as their power continues to grow and their contracts continue to raise. It's only a matter of time before they start to branch out and make themselves more known, but with a God as the son of a famous nightmare around the lake and another God trailing after a she-cat, rogues and loners around the lake wonder how their relationship is going to end up playing out. Despite that, Yijiao has had it's own fair share of problems, suffering from the same bought of greencough as the rest of the lake and even seeing a smidge of murder and unrest in their ranks.
Those In Charge Yijiao is run by the Teller, a dual commander and spiritual leader, and their right hand is the vice. Helfeirch is a strong and passionate Teller, who reveres the gods but doesn't tolerate those who skip out on work. Carnivore, while young and new to the position, is shaping up to be a ruthless and efficient future Teller.
Bans and Encouragements Though smaller than the Clans, Yijiao is reasonably balanced in their numbers at this point in time. Age groups are fairly even, with a good dispersion in all age groups. Assassins also have a lead on numbers compared to bounty hunters. Litters in Yijiao are currently open. Toms are also encouraged to help catch up in number to she-cats, who currently lead the gender gap. Nonbinary cats, however, are certainly always welcome.
viperion
news | leadership | bans
Recent Happenings Chaos has once again returned to Viperion as they find yet another one of their monarchs dead, and from brutal circumstances. Regina has swooped in to take his place - her place - and is excersising her authority in Viperion, making it clear she is now the cat to fear. She has retained Vendetta's royalty, but expanded to include cats of her own, further extending her authority upon the others. But Vendetta's presence is not completly gone from Viperion, as his plans for revenge live on. Regina is carrying on her predecessor's work, sending trusted cats into the Clans to spy for her, and feed her crucial information for a future encounter.
Those In Charge Viperion is ruled by the monarch, and their right hand is the lieutenant. Regina is an intelligent and brutal monarch who's deadset on making sure the legacy of Drought and Viperion lives on. Strategy is the name of her game. Outsiders are currently under heavy scrutiny, unless they are vouched for by a trustworthy cat currently within Viperion's ranks.
Bans and Encouragements Though Viperion is smaller than the Clans, they are fairly well balanced in numbers. Ages are fairly diverse, though there is currently a heavy encouragement for new characters 40 moons and older due to the gap of ages. Young fighters are also discouraged due to the recent flood of them. However, kits and cadets are welcome, and litters are open in Viperion. Genders are currently fairly balanced, with a slight favoring towards toms, though nonbinary cats are always welcome.

THUNDERCLAN TERRITORY
Camp | ThunderClan's camp is one of the most distinctive of all the camps around the lake. Situated comfortably in a hollow, the camp is surrounded by cliffs of smooth, blue-gray stone that was carved out by twolegs long ago. With cliffs surrounding all sides and a thick, prickly tangle of thorns creating the entrance tunnel, this camp is hard to invade and very easy to defend, and is well protected from high wind and bad storms. Along the cliffs are several stones used for sunning in the day, and a shelter of bushes where fresh-kill is kept out of the sun and away from the prying eyes of thieving birds of prey. A tumble of fallen rocks leads up to a ledge that juts out from the cliff edge, the highledge where all announcements are made. Just behind the highledge is a crack in the stone walls where the leader makes their den. At the foot of the camp, the is the remains of a fallen beech tree laying in the hollow, and the warriors make a den among it's fallen branches and woven tendrils of thorns. Not far away, the apprentices sleep in a crack in the rock wall. Also among the rock walls and hidden among screens of brambles is the medicine cat's den. Among the biggest bramble thicket is the nursery, woven and reinforced with thorns and heavily protected. Also along the fallen tree remains is the elder's den, tucked among their branches and decorated with honeysuckle.
Territory | The ThunderClan territory lies in the north-eastern regions of the lake, encompassing a vast swath of leafy forest with dense undergrowth. In newleaf and greenleaf, the forest is in full bloom, with the undergrowth especially dense and the trees' branches full of leaf cover, while in leaf-bare the forest quickly takes on fall colors with orange, reds, and yellows, and the leaf cover quickly falls to the forest floor. In leaf-bare, the trees are all bare, apart from the occasional evergreen trees such as pines. ThunderClan's territory contains many landmarks of note, and they are either used as meeting places, or have very practical purposes for the Clans. Under the category of useful, but not a place the cats visit often, is the old twolegnest. ThunderClan cats can walk up an old, overgrown thunderpath towards the den, even though they usually avoid it otherwise, and to the old wooden structure. It's a decent place to hunt for prey, but it's largest use is the herbs that grow in the old garden, especially catmint, which the medicine cats tend carefully. The favorite landmark for cats to meet is perhaps the sky oak, not far from the lakeshore. It is a massive oak tree, currently the tallest around the lake, even taller than the great oak on the island, and is a favorite home for squirrels. It's an ideal place to practice climbing or for hunting. Cats may even shelter from stormy weather in an old rabbit warren among the roots. ThunderClan's last landmark in their territory is the mossy clearing, not far outside their camp. It's a small clearing, with moss growing around it in abundance, and free of tree roots to trip any cat, making it a safe place to practice fighting moves or stalking.
Borders | ThunderClan's territory has three borders along its territory, each of which are patrolled quite regularly. To the southern edge of their leafy territory, ThunderClan borders the lake, and share the border with no Clans or other cats, but allow cats to pass as long as they remain within two tail-lengths of the lake. Towards the pine forest on the western edge of ThunderClan territory, a stream marks the border with ShadowClan, running down to the lake. Further upstream of the water way, the stream veers deeper into ShadowClan territory, but the border follows the line the stream would have followed if it had remained relatively straight, up towards the greenleaf twolegplace. Cats may cross along this border to travel towards SkyClan territory, or from SkyClan territory to the lake. Along the eastern edge of ThunderClan's woodland is a second stream, cutting through the trees and marking the border with WindClan territory, remaining relatively straight opposed to the ShadowClan border. Cats are permitted to follow this stream when traveling to the moonpool. Up towards the northern edges of ThunderClan territory is the border with SkyClan, their border beginning at the greenleaf twolegplace and stretching along a ridge of higher ground towards the northern edges of ThunderClan's comparatively low woodland.
Typical Prey | small rodent such as mice, shrews, and voles; birds such as pigeons, sparrows, and pheasants; squirrels; rabbits

SHADOWCLAN TERRITORY
Camp | True to the nature of ShadowClan camps, their home is one of the most hidden and hard to find of all the camps around the lake. Tucked away at the base of a slope is a small pool of fresh water, and only a few fox-lengths away is the entrance of a tunnel of thorns, hidden away in a tangle of brambles and low-hanging branches. If you didn't know where the camp was, you could almost walk right by it, unaware it was there. Once inside, there is a small clearing, surrounded by pine trees and the aforementioned brambles, but with a clear view up to the sky and the stars at night. Yet their pine trees protect the outer edge of the clearing from most of the elements, leaving most cats who settle there dry from rain and snow. Needless to say, most cats linger under the protection of these branches when the weather is poor. Near the edge of the clearing there is a tree with a branch that hangs low but is easy to climb to, or even leap up onto, named the pinebranch, where the leader makes all Clan announcements. Hidden among the base of the very same tree is the leader's den, sheltered among the roots and a thick bramble bush. In fact, almost every den in the camp is hidden under a bramble bush, ranging from the warriors, the elders, the apprentices, and even the nursery, though warriors have added thorns and other reinforcement to this den. The medicine cat's den is the only one not beneath a bush, actually set in an old badger's den, though part of the roof has been cleared away to see the sky, leaving the sandy floor covered in pine neddles and bramble leaves from the protective bushes that grow above it.
Territory | Of all the Clans around the lake, ShadowClan's territory is among the most jealously guarded. Though some cats would fail to see what makes the pine forests special, there is plenty to find if you head into the shadows. The territory is largely covered in tall and short pine trees, frequently leaving the ground covered in needles. Truth be told, needles are by far the most common ground covering found in the forest, as there is a sheer lack of undergrowth and bushes when you compare the woods to ThunderClan or SkyClan territory. Just outside of camp is actually a little clearing named the nettle patch, due to the sheer number of pine needles that surround it, though the clearing is really quite clear, allowing an easy place for hunting or battle practice. While there is plenty of unique forest in ShadowClan, they also have some unique proximity to Twolegs, even within their own territory. Not only do they have the boatplace on one border and the greenleaf twolegplace on another border, but they actually have a twolegnest within their own territory. Occasionally the twolegs who dwell here will keep kittypets, which can be either friendly or a nuisance depending on the cat. This twolegnest, while an annoyance for the noise and potential kittypets, can be of benefit based on the herbs the medicine cats find growing in the garden. In fact, ShadowClan's territory has a very fair supply of herbs, if you just know where to look.
Borders | ShadowClan borders three Clans, and do to their closeness, they keep a rather strict eye on their borders. To their southeaster edge, ShadowClan's territory runs along the lake shore where they have no borders, but cats may safely pass as long as they remain two tail-lengths from the lake-shore. Towards the east, ShadowClan borders their traditional neighbors ThunderClan, and near the stream that runs along the border, the trees begin to grow more interspersed with pine and leaf-branches alike. At one point, the stream that marks the border suddenly veers back into ShadowClan territory, and the border instead runs along it's former path until it reaches the greenleaf twolegplace. Past the greenleaf twolegplace, and north of their territory in general, is where ShadowClan's border with SkyClan begins, with the same dispersement of leafy trees intermingled with the traditional pines of ShadowClan. Cats can travel along the stream that marks the ThunderClan-ShadowClan border to reach SkyClan territory from the lake, and vice versa. And to the southwestern edge of ShadowClan's border is another greenleaf twolegplace, the boatplace, and the thunderpath that leads to it. This marks the border of RiverClan territory, though cats are more cautious marking this border when twolegs are most active.
Typical Prey | small rodents such as mice, shrews, and voles; birds such as pigeons, sparrows, and pheasants; amphibians such as lizards, frogs, or toads

WINDCLAN TERRITORY
Camp | Of all the camps that are around the lake, the WindClan camp is the hardest to find. Only those used to the lay of the territory and the moors would know exactly where to find it, and only a small number of outsiders can find the camp without much difficulty. Much of the camp is out in the open, situated in a dip in the hills, decorated with rocks and gorse. The camp is largely out in the open, with nests for the Clan who prefer to sleep under the stars, only retreating to some old fox and badger dens when the weather is too adverse to sleep outdoors. Though there are many rocks strewn around the camp, the largest rock is the Tallrock, where the WindClan leader makes their announcements. A little hollow under the Tallrock is the leaders den, though they typically prefer to sleep out in the open with the other warriors. Nearby is where queens rest with their kits, one of the few dens that is always hidden, protected by the large gorse bush that makes up the nursery. Close to the nursery is a boulder with a large crack and hollow opening. This is the medicine cats' den, with herbs placed in an organized and neat fashion, found easily by the distinct smell of herbs. A large abandoned badger set is where the elders' den is, the nests line with soft moss found strewn all along the moors.
Territory | Lying to the east of the lake, WindClan is famed for having one of, or perhaps the largest, stretch of territory across the lake. The clan lives within the moors and steep hills in which they are most comfortable. You won't find much in terms of biodiversity within the territory, as it's covered with rocks, boulders, and shrubs of gorse and heather. While it's large, the key notable points within the territory are few and far between. The first one is the Lookout Rock. A giant boulder sits to the north-west of the camp, at the highest peak of the hills allowing a gorgeous view of the entire lake territory, and the land beyond. It's popular for guards, and for sight-seeing. The boulder is decorated at it's base by bushes of gorse, heather, and juniper, making it a popular spot to collect herbs by medicine cats and the active rabbit warren is fed through these bushes. To the south east is the Windy Hollow. A flat, stable area to take young apprentices for them to find their footing. Rocks litter the perimiter of the Hollow, and the ground is covered by mosses and scattered patches of asphodel and cottongrass, making it soft for rough landing and further cementing it's idealness for training apprentices. More south past the Windy Hollow, is the Horseplace. A large barn is erected at their border, where loners and traveling cats pass through for a night for warm shelter and ample food as it's infested with mice. To the far north reaches of their borders, is the stream of clear, clean, crisp fresh water that flows down from the Moonpool. WindClan prides themselves on this stream, and avoid trampling in it or washing their paws in this stream to avoid upsetting their ancestors. Lining the edge of the stream is a variety of herbs, as it's a well drained area which promotes healthy plant growth and making it popular for WindClan medicine cats, and sometimes ThunderClan across the stream benefits from this as well.
Borders | As WindClan has one of the hilliest territories along the lake, perhaps it's not much of a surprise that they have two of the most diverse borders to match. To the west, WindClan's territory meets the lake, and has the most lakeshore out of any Clan due to the way the lake-share winds around their vast hills. Though this isn't a border with other Clans, cats are allowed to pass through WindClan territory as long as they remain within two tail-lengths of the lake. To the south of WindClan territory is the horseplace, where twolegs live with their horses, and WindClan sometimes see the horseplace cats, though they do not strongly enforce this border and the horseplace cats generally never cross it anyway. Closer towards the lake is where WindClan's border with RiverClan begins, evident by when the ground starts to turn wet and marshy. To the north of WindClan's territory is the border with ThunderClan, marked by a stream where cats can cross by leaping across or using the stepping stones. Some woodlands grow on WindClan's side of the stream, making a slightly lopsided territory terrain, but one WindClan cats value for the herbs and prey. If cats also follow the stream upstream, they will find their way towards the moonpool.
Typical Prey | rabbits; small rodents such as mice, shrews, voles; birds such as pigeons, crows, and occasional eagles

RIVERCLAN TERRITORY
Camp | Every river in the forest flows to the lake, and these two streams are no exception, but they take an unusual path, meeting up and joining into one. Between these two streams, there is a small triangle of land, where RiverClan cats call home. It is secure, accessed only by swimming or the stepping stones during every season except leaf-bare. Even during leaf-bare, it can be tricky to reach the camp - the ice can be thin and easily breakable if you don't know where to go. Surrounded by luscious vegetation is the camp itself, the trees and bushes drowning out the sound from outside, making it a very quiet place. In a large bramble bush lies the nursery, with a nice path of sunshine regularly occurring outside, where the queens sunbathe and the kits play when they get too big for comfortable play inside. The warriors and apprentices dens are nearby, made of woven reeds and decorated with lovely flowers and shells, as the RiverClan cats are often fond of decorating their dens nicely. On the other side of camp is a large patch of thicket, where the elders make their den, and the leader's den is much the same, only about a foxlength away. The medicine cat is what's truly unique about this camp though, inside a thornbush hanging over the stream. The dugout earth has a small pool of water for ill cats, and it makes for a nice for the medicine cat to sleep and store their supplies. Inside the camp is a large boulder, dubbed the Reedstone, where the leader makes their announcements.
Territory | Though RiverClan is named for the rivers and streams that run through their home, their territory is much more than that. RiverClan's territory is made up of grassy fields and leafy forest, though some pine trees begin to intermingle as they approach ShadowClan territory, offering ample opportunities to hunt ground-dwelling prey as well as fish. Not far from the horseplace is also marshy ground, which isn't opportune for fishing, but provides a good hunting place and ample resources for herbs to grow. Several small streams and pools run through the woodlands RiverClan live in, but the most distinctive is the stream and the river that join together to provide the peninsula of the RiverClan camp. Though the smaller streams and pools will freeze over in the cold of leaf-bare, the larger bodies of water remain running all season, providing RiverClan a source of food even when all the other prey have retreated to their dens. If you follow the stream upstream from the RiverClan camp you will make your way towards the reed clearing, which is a little sheltered clearing among the reeds where RiverClan cats meet for training sessions. This little clearing sits just besides the stream as well, leaving a place for cats to fish or to swim. When heading back towards the lake shore, there is a twoleg half-bridge that juts out into the lake, offering cats a place to look out from or oversee cats swimming in the lake, though it isn't used much in greenleaf when twolegs are about.
Borders | As RiverClan has one of the smallest territories around the lake, perhaps it's not much of a surprise that they have some of the shortest borders as well, though they are certainly among the busiest. To the northeast of RiverClan's territory, RiverClan finds themselves a the lake, and while it borders no other Clans, and is not technically their territory, RiverClan makes the most usage of their water feature, using it for swimming and fishing. Cats are allowed to pass through RiverClan territory as long as they remain at least two tail-lengths from the lake, and they do every full moon as RiverClan's territory hosts the tree-bridge that leads right onto the island for gatherings. To the southern side of RiverClan territory is a twoleg bridge that holds a thunderpath on it, though cats can simply walk underneath the bridge to avoid the monsters to reach the other side. Medicine cats often visit the twoleg gardens on the other side to find useful herbs such as catnip. To the northern end of RiverClan is another thunderpath to leads to the greenleaf twolegplace and the boatplace. This Thunderpath acts as the border with ShadowClan, though it is patrolled less frequently when the twolegs are particularly active. To the east is the horseplace, where RiverClan sometimes see the horseplace cats, but the two parties seem to be fairly respective of one another's territories. The stretch of marsh that sits between the horseplace and the lake is what makes up the small stretch of WindClan border.
Typical Prey | fish; small rodents such as mice, shrews, and voles; birds such as pigeons and sparrows

SKYCLAN TERRITORY
Camp | As the last Clan to settle around the lake, SkyClan had many homes and many camps, but this has been their permanent camp for many generations. Though a fair amount of SkyClan's territory are tall ridges and hills, SkyClan have situated their camp in a sheltered valley, protecting themselves from the harshest winds and some of the worst weather. The camp is situated in a little clearing, nearly a ravine, with walls of stone and earth to surround and protect them. Most SkyClan cats would be capable of leaping straight in and out of the camp if there were not thorny bushes growing all around for protection. Currently the entrance in and out of the camp is actually a crack in the side of the ravine that leads up to a thorny tunnel, leaving SkyClan thoroughly protected. Inside the camp, along the ravine wall are several rocks cluster together and a gap leaving an entrance to the apprentice's den. The warrior's dens and Elder's dens, on opposite sides of the camp, are both situated under expansive hawthorn bushes, though the elders have had their den reinforced to prevent drafts. The nursery is tucked up against the ravine walls as well, but largely takes their shelter from a hawthorn bush too, and thorn bushes that were planted to add further defense for their youngest. The medicine cat's den is perhaps the most beautiful, set beneath two boulders with a willow tree growing above them, but leading to a sandy-floored cave inside. In the center of camp is a tall stone, with a few smaller stones around it, covered in yellow lichen, named the tall rock where the leader holds clan meetings. The leader sleeps in a small den in a shelter of stones just beneath the tallrock.
Territory | SkyClan's territory has perhaps the most diverse territory in terms of elevation, perhaps only equal to WindClan. Parts of SkyClan are sheltered in a dip of a valley, some are closer in elevation to ThunderClan and ShadowClan territory, while others are high on ridges or even up hills towards the mountains. The highest part of SkyClan's territory are the foothills, where they enjoy a view of the lake from up high, and find a wide variety of prey that live in the forest, but even those that come down from the hills as well. What all this range in territory has in common, however, are the abundance of trees and undergrowth. The ground cover is similar to ThunderClan's with ample undergrowth, perfect for hiding and finding a wide variety of herbs. The trees are a combination of tall pines and lush leafy green trees, perfect for SkyClan camps to leap into and chase after birds and squirrels. Not far from the camp is a little clearing that is covered in soft, plush grass, and can catch glimpses of the lake through the slight clearing in the trees. This is the leafy clearing, the most popular training spot and easily the best place to practice fighting moves as there is a soft landing every time.
Borders | To the north of the lake is the valley that marks the natural boundaries of SkyClan's territory. To the northeast and northwest of SkyClan's valley are vast, steep hills and mountains, that form something of a natural border and edge to SkyClan's forest. Not far past these hills are some twolegnests, and the starts of twolegplaces. To the southwest of SkyClan's territory is the border with ShadowClan's pine forest, evident by the leveling out of the ground and the growing abundance of pine trees. The border is marked largely by a twoleg path and the greenleaf twolegplace. To the southeast and also beginning at the greenleaf twolegplace is SkyClan's border with ThunderClan, marked by the continuation of a towlegpath and the continued evening out of the ground. SkyClan is the only Clan not to border the lake, as they were the most recently settled, and do not have to monitor cats passing through their territory. SkyClan cats may safely travel up and down the stream that marks the ThunderClan-ShadowClan border to make their way towards the lake.
Typical Prey | small rodents such as mice, shrews, and voles; birds such as pigeons, sparrows, and starlings; squirrels; rabbits

YIJIAO TERRITORY
Camp | It's easy to say that Yijiao has easily the most unique camp of all the settlements around the lake. Yijiao's camp cannot be found walking in the woods, but exists beneath the woods themselves, with the entrance of tunnels that lead underground. The tunnels end by opening into a large underground cave that has a fair amount of stone on the floor, but also has a small underground lake expanding out in front of them, offering the cult plentiful water and even some easy fish on occasion. In the ceiling of the cave are several cracks, some small, some rather large, that send light down onto the lake and onto the stone floor. Along the walls of the cave are cracks and smaller caves that cats use to make their dens. There are no centralized dens, most cats will just find a comfortable place to sleep for themselves or a few other cats. In greenleaf, Yijiao's camp is comfortable cool, as it is stone, underground, and largely out of the light of the harsh sun. In leaf-bare though, the camp is generally very cold, and cats will add extra bedding to their dens to stay warm and cluster together in the beams of sunlight that filter down onto the warm rock floor. Similarly, Yijiao's camp is largely unaffected from rain or snow, other than where there are cracks in the roof.
Territory | Yijiao has one of the most diverse territories, and not simply due to the tunnel system they live in, but because of the underground and the aboveground divide. The minute a cat enters the tunnels, they are in the underground, and will find themselves in a series of twists and turns - some that dead end, some that lead to smaller caves, and others that will take a cat directly to the Yijiao camp. There are also certain tunnels that lead to smaller caves of great significance. One such cave is the jagged cavity, a cave who's ceiling is broken open in places to the sky, but far too tall for cats to leap. But the bottom of the cave is sandy, giving cats a safe place to practice fighting moves, even in rainy weather. Another cave of note, not for any practical use other than a place of beauty or an easy meeting place is the crystal cave, a small cave filled with a small stream and quartz that casts light and reflections all around the cave walls. Once cats leave the tunnels, they are in the part of the territory Yijiao considers the aboveground. Outside of the main tunnels Yijiao use are lush leafy forests with dense undergrowth and towering oak and pine trees. Pley is plentiful in the small area Yjiao claims as their hunting grounds, but it isn't unheard of for Yijiao to leave their normal hunting ground in harder moons to seek prey elsewhere.
Borders | Due to the nature of Yijiao's structure with welcoming cats into their camp to make contracts, and their lack of immediate neighbors, Yijiao has no true aboveground borders nor do they run any patrols to protect what they consider their general territory. Yijiao cats are not typically bothered if other cats pass through their unmarked territory, and will only step in to defend what they consider their crucial hunting grounds. Once cats enter the tunnels that lead to the Yijiao camp, however, that becomes a different story, as that is territory that is Yijiao's, and no one else's. Cats do patrol these tunnels, looking for those who are seeking Yijiao out in order to bring them back to their camp, and to make sure they don't have any unwanted visitors.
Typical Prey | some fish from the underground lake; small rodents such as mice, shrews, voles; birds such as pigeons, sparrows, and pheasants; squirrels; rabbits

VIPERION TERRITORY
Camp | Out of all the groups living near the lake, Viperion is unique in that it does not have a true camp. There are no communal dens; instead, each cat will create their own den somewhere within Viperion's territory. It is most common for cats to live alone, but there have been instances of mates or other life companions sharing a den with each other, and in rare cases, a larger group with a close bond may even create a pseudo-camp with several dens lumped together. It is traditional for youngsters to go out and create their own dens upon being made cadets. Naturally, since these dens are made by individuals in a variety of locations, there is no standard for what they look like; some members of Viperion will carve or craft elaborate dwellings entirely by paw, while others simply claim a bush or hollow log to sleep in. There is no right answer, aside from not choosing a den location close to someone who isn't interested in having a neighbor. But yes, since you insist, Viperion does have a centralized location to conduct business. Deep in their forest, where light struggles to reach the ground, there is a higher section of well-draining ground surrounded by a dense tangle of thorns and brambles. This is where the monarch calls meetings from atop the dead stump, and cats also pass through here on their own time to share news with others. At the edges of the "camp" are several small dens, formerly fox burrows, and those unable to care for themselves sometimes reside here. This includes particularly frail elders, fen, and cats who are recovering from injuries, particularly in the aftermath of a battle. During times when none of the above are living here, it's not unusual to find the "camp" completely empty. This protects Viperion in its own way. After all, if one of the Clans grew bold enough to strike out at the rogue group, there would be no specific location to target; the invaders would need to slog through a dark forest and treacherous swamp in search of scattered individuals who know the terrain like the back of their paws. Seeing as the Clans don't typically have a death wish, this doesn't tend to happen.
Territory | Those familiar with ShadowClan might find that Viperion's land is not entirely different... though thanks to the unique surprises present in the swamp, a Viperion cat would be more at home in ShadowClan's territory than the other way around. The majority of this territory is dominated by an expansive evergreen forest, and there is little undergrowth. While Viperion has also claimed nearby sections of more leafy forest, these areas tend to be used for hunting more than anything, as most of the group prefers living among the evergreens. It also seems that before Viperion lived here, the territory may have undergone a forest fire or some other natural disaster, as the forest is relatively young. Its trees grow close together, meaning that little light reaches the pine needle-coated ground. And while the trees aren't short (especially not to a cat), they would be dwarfed by the Fourtrees of old legend. A good portion of Viperion's population is actually quite skilled at climbing and can cross the territory without ever touching the ground, finding paths through the branches. It's a point of pride among the climbers, as they consider it a better way to travel: easier to hide when you're in the trees, and crossing the swamp is much safer without the risk of stepping in a bad spot and getting stuck. But among those who can't (or won't) take to the trees, there is an equally vocal group of cats who see the climbers as the foolish ones. These "ground-dwellers" think climbing is foolish and cowardly; it's all too easy for a branch to break, or for one's paws to slip, and falling from a height never ends well. They also insist that a true Viperion cat doesn't need to hide like a mouse; there is pride to be taken in moving confidently through the territory, and knowing the swamp well enough to avoid the more dangerous areas. These two groups sometimes come to blows over their differences; it's a unique aspect of Viperion culture. Speaking of the swamp: around the lake territories, it is a feature only found in Viperion. These areas of low-lying wetland collect stagnant water, making it a haven for marshy plants, insects, and some prey animals like frogs. Drinking the swamp water is discouraged as it can cause illness. The ground here is much softer, with patches of mud that do not have firm ground beneath them; it is best described like quicksand, since an unwary traveler can step into it and become stuck, sinking in and being unable to find solid purchase to haul themself out. It's an easy place to grab a meal, as Viperion cats can pluck out small creatures like mice that have fallen into the mire. But beware: not all the bones in the swamp belong to prey animals...
Borders | While Viperion does not directly border any of the other groups, it is fiercely protective of its territory. Outsiders are not tolerated anywhere near the borders, even if they haven't actually trespassed, and are lucky to be chased off with a couple of new scars. Fortunately, the territory mostly ends at the edges of the marshy evergreen forest, so borders are easily distinguished by leafy trees, dry soil, and a lack of pine needles underfoot. More than that, Viperion marks its territory by scratching: nearly every tree along the border is covered in claw marks, with many tree trunks having had the bark stripped away, as far up as the cats could reach. It's an intimidating sight, and leaves no question to passerby that this territory is viciously guarded.
Typical Prey | small rodents such as mice, rats, and voles; squirrels; birds such as sparrows, crows, and owls; amphibians and reptiles such as lizards, frogs, toads, and snakes
