Perhaps the tallest tree around the entire lake, the Sky Oak is certainly the largest in ThunderClan territory. It influences many aspects of ThunderClan's lives: not only is it a place of plentiful hunting, as a wide variety of animals live in and around it, but the Sky Oak is also among the best places to teach cats how to climb. This is one of the most prominent landmarks in ThunderClan history, as well as for other Clans to distinguish ThunderClan territory around the lake.

One of the best places for apprentices to train, and for warriors to hone their skills, is the mossy clearing, just outside the ThunderClan camp. This little hollow is an ideal place to train, offering a flat and soft mossy surface with no roots or leaves to send cats tripping or sliding. The mossy clearing is typically used to practice hunting and stalking techniques as well as being a safe and soft place to practice battle moves.

Marking ThunderClan's territorial claim are their borders, routinely patrolled and remarked daily. ThunderClan has many borders along their territory - to the north is their SkyClan border, extending along the stream and along woodland; to the west is their border with ShadowClan, marked by the stream and the Greenleaf Twolegplace; and to the east is the border with WindClan, marked by a stream in the middle of a forest. The lake shore forms a natural border to the south and any cat is permitted to travel within two tail-lengths of it. Additionally, SkyClan cats have been given permission to travel across ThunderClan's border with ShadowClan to and from the lakeshore.

ThunderClan's territory, in short, is a leafy forest. It is mainly comprised of maples, oaks, and other similar tree species, making it a very colorful place during autumn, when all of the leaves change colors, and a brilliant green in greenleaf. At the southern edge of their territory is a vast lake in the middle of Clan territories, which ThunderClan often uses as a water source.
